"POLICE" and "Honi soit Qui Mal Y Pense" around the crest of the arms of Great Britain. Background for decoration is black, writing etc in gold, red and blue in crest, crown & red ground for "POLICE". Base marked "Parker 233 Holborn" see E.R.H. Dicken, The History of Truncheons p16/ Firm of William Parker started in London in 1796 making Truncheons. The butt stamp on this truncheon was used by the firm Parker, Field and Sons. (also firearm makers to Government and to London Police)
