PRINT Stages of Life Woman

CH1981.111.b

Inscriptions: "Seiber" logo lower left corner. "The Different Stages of life" left corner. On each 'step' is a verse appropriate to age: "An angel guards each little child / And whispers teachings undefiled / At ten, the child in flowing dress, / Has innocence and happiness / A fair, sweet maid at twenty, she / with heart of love and purity / With thirty, o'er her life there comes, / the mother's joy of little ones / At forty years, her children dear, / Bring back memories bright and clear. / At fifty, she has reached her prime, / And now grandchildren claim her time. / At sixty years, her footsteps tend / In solemn tread towards the end. / Her great grandchildren, free and bright, / At seventy years, are her delight. / Her grandchild helps her cheerfully. / At ninety, she has snow white hair / And for death's journey doth prepare. / If she reaches ten years more, / God's forgiveness she doth implore." Subject Matter: Central image of the Garden of Eden.
