MEDAL Miniature OBE
W1983.26.b
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Civil). Part of set of five miniatures worn with mess uniform or formal civilian evening dress. Medals are all fixed to a black felt-backed board which bears the manufacturer's label: "By Appointment / Chorleys / Sydney." The miniature medal cluster was attached to the uniform via a long brass pin running horizontally across the back. See File 144/71 for biographical details.
