MODEL STEAMER
T1970.842
Model with gilt figurehead. This model with its clipper bows shows the influence of sailing ship design on steamers. However this represents a later stage & steamer design is more dominant. This is a "three-island" type (fo'csle, bridge, poop of 1880ca-1890). Two cylinder compound engine ships of this type on the W.A. coast included "Rob Roy", "Marloo", "Wallowra" & "Mindya". Notes by Mr R. McKenna. Now believed to be "Cynthia".
