[.1] badge [.2] pre-enamelled badge. [.1] Gilt finish and red enamel badge, square shape with semi circle top. Large text 'MAYDAY' across top of badge, six lines of smaller text underneath reading 'COMRADE TOM EDWARDS/ WORKING CLASS MARTYR/ WHO SACRIFICED HIS LIFE/ ON THE FREMANTLE WHARF/ ON SUNDAY MAY 4th 1919/ GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN'. Red enamel background and gold gilt finish rim. Reverse: text 'SHERIDAN/ PERTH' reads sideways down badge, brooch fixing also positioned sideways with pin and catch attached. [.2] Pre-enamelled version of [.1] with design and text stamped. Unfinished metal around edges of stamped badge design as not yet clipped, no enamel or finish applied. Reverse: text 'SHERIDAN/ PERTH' reads sideways down badge, brooch fixing also positioned sideways but with no pin or catch attached.
