rectangular, thick timber frame, with painted gold inner edging, glass insert and certificate of Great War service enclosed. Handwritten in black ink 'Sister Elsie Haywood Richardson/Australian Army Nursing Service A.I.F.', In type print, 'Served with honour and was disabled in the Great War/Invalided from the Service', Handwritten in black ink '7th November 1919', signed in black ink 'George R. I.', signature of King George V.
Rusted loops for hanging system on back, with new hanging wire and glass.
