Solid, stained wood commode with ceramic chamber pot and lid. The commode is roughly square shaped with three flat sides and rounded front. The lid is a solid, hinged flap; beneath is a hinged seat with a hole at the centre about the diameter of the chamber pot beneath. There are four short, turned legs. The chamber pot is light ivory in colour with a deep ridge around the rim to hold the lid securely. The lid has a ceramic knob at the centre within a circular depression and is decorated with four concentric circles. The timber is rough and unfinished inside the commode, including the wood shelf with a circular hole into which the pot fits. Secured beneath this is a length of wood into which a fifth, unturned leg is screwed.
