Small notebook with thin cardboard cover, inserted into a brown suede cover. Burnt into suede in brown on cover "NOTE BOOK/ MAORI KHARE NZ". Image of wooden Maori house in centre of cover, with painted red flowers and green leaves, blue lake. Written on edge of inside cover of suede in blue ink "TO PHOEBE WITH BEST/ WISHES FROM/ FLORENCE & JIMMY/ WELLINGTON/ XMAS 1944". Blue lined pages in notebook, unmarked. Three pages have been written on, and then cut out, and the edges of writing remain. Notebook fastened in centre with two metal staples.
