COMMEMORATIVE PLATE, Queen Victoria

Ceramic plate, glazed, with a painted design on the face. Above in a brown scroll are painted the words 'County Borough of St Helens', below this 'Richard Pilkington, Mayor', then a coloured portrait of Queen Victoria, with the letters 'V' and 'P' at either side, and the years '1837' and '1897' at either side. This is all above the words 'In Commemoration of her Majesty's Glorious reign of 60 Years'. The background is cream. On the reverse is the makers name 'H.Webb, St Helens, 48 Church Street.' Affixed to a hole on reverse is a piece of wire for hanging.
