VESTA CASE IN BOX

H1995.1009.1-2

Gold vesta case with flip lid and attached ring on one side is symbol of knight in armour with feathers and banner that reads 'VIRTUS ET HONOS'. On the reverse side a passage reads 'TO/ WOR.BRO.C.A DE BERNALES.P.M/ AS A TOKEN OF ESTEEM/ FROM HIS/ MASONIC FRIENDS/ DUKE OF ROTHESAY LODGE/ NO 83 WAC/ JANUARY 1920'. The vesta case is held in a box, velvet lined with push button catch. Inside the lid reads 'ESTABLISHED 1820/ J.L. ATHERLY/ JEWELLER/ 71 AND 72 BURLINGTON ARCADE/ LONDON, W.'
