BISCUIT TIN
H1993.485
Rectangluar metal tin with hinged lid, painted silver. There are four labels on this tin, the longest two labels are both identical. They are yellow and red. There is a floral pattern along the edges. Text on these labels reads 'MILLS 7 WARE'S/ EXTRA SPECIAL/ MILK ARROWROOT/ BISCUITS/ THE / BEST FOOD FOR/ CHILDREN'. The other two smaller labels are identical. The colours of these labels are predominantly green and red. There is a lion and unicorn holding onto a coat of arms in one corner followed by roses and the kangaroo and emu also next to a coat of arms. Text reads '....to H.E. the Governer./ Mills & Ware's/ High Class/ BISCUITS/ SWAN/ Biscuit factory./ Cake and / FREMANTLE./ 8lbs./ Ginger Shorties/ (Good Luck)'. Label after label was placed on top of each other, thus this tin has two different labels attached.
