Former Kalgoorlie Mining Associates property. Square sided tin with round, sealed lid. Contains Protosorb, white, chalky granules. Front and back of tin reads "this TIN CONTAINS ONE CHARGE / `PROTOSORB' REGD. / CARBON DIOXIDE ABSORBENT FOR / TWO HOURS / USE WITH / `PROTO' MARK IV BAG / SIEBE GORMAN & CO. LTD / Submarine & Safety Engineers / Davis Road . Tolworth, Surrey." Sides of tin read IMPORTANT / DO NOT USE `PROTOSORB' WITH / `PROTO' MARK I BAG / DO NOT RUB OR KNEAD / `PROTOSORB' WHILE IN USE / SHAKE BAG GENTLY EVERY 20 MINUTES / STORE IN A COOL PLACE". T78.123 is a `Proto' Mark IV harness and gas cylinder donated by Kalgoorlie Mining Associates and used in the Fimiston Mines until 1975. This tin is most likely stock that was used in conjunction with T78.123. H89.327 is also `Proto' Mark IV harness and gas cylinder.
