Bell shaped, brass 'gun' with long 'barrel' handle. Detonating pin on end. "GREENER HUMANE CATTLE KILLER / W.W. GREENER / GUNMAKER / BIRMINGHAM / PATENT No 7040" stamped. Bell base: "3033" stamped on handle. Contained in wooden box with sliding lid on which is printed written instructions and diagrams of how to use the gun. Also in in box 38 cartridges, bases drilled (0.9cm diam). One thin spiral bristled cleaning brush. Old identity label still in box. This "humane cattle killer was used on course to put down maimed or badly injured animals" (old label). Part of collection donated by KBRC in 1988.
