Eight sided bowl. Stamps on base: "GRIMWADES" on a globe, "STOKE ON TRENT / ENGLAND" c 1930 +. "A Souvenir of the Great War / Commenced Aug. 4th 1914 / Armistice Nov. 11th 1919 / Peace signed June 23rd 1919". Head of bearded soldier above which appears: "Beimsfather ware / Grimwade's / Stoke on Trent". Beneath: "Old Bill". Inside rim: Brown line 2 cm below rim pictures of grass alternated with helmets and buckets. Picture at centre base entitled "What time do they fee the Sea-Lions Alf?" Featuring three men in a trench, one reading a newspaper. Outside edge: an illustration on each of the eight sides: Two men in hole in battlefield: "Well, if you knows of a better 'ole, go to it!" - Hat in grass. - Bird on tree-trunk with barbed wire. - Hat in grass. - Man eating tinned plum and apple "When the 'ell is it going to be strawberry?" - Bucket in grass. - Tree-trunk and barbed wire. - Mouse and corned beef tin.
