"CENEI / B-SCOPER / D.B.P. / Made in Germany". Battery operated, cream and gold, folding slide viewer. Lila Mitchell (1903-1984) was a school teacher in Western Australia and a well travelled woman. She grew up on a station at Laverton as a child. (Her father was a pastoralist) until her family moved to Perth where they lived by the river in Belmont. After her mother died in 1984 she moved to 9 Mary Street, Claremont in 1950-51 ca. From ca 1945 to 1965 when she retired, she taught at Kent Street High School She was a keen sportswoman and represented the State in hockey and tennis. During the war she coached several sports at school. During most of her school holidays she travelled, mostly alone. After her retirement she live in England for a number of years.
