Octagonal shape with animal head on handle. Copy of the popular Mason' 'Hydra' shape. (see Godden Mason's Patent Ironstone China, plate 69). Painted with birds and insects. Relief moulded foliage, Grecian figures and infants. Bluish glaze. Marks on base: Urn with swag containing the words 'IRONSTONE \ CHINA'. Ref: as above page 71.
