Chinoiserie, combination of Imari (ferric red, underglaze blue and gold) and famille rose (peonies). Wide gilded band at edge with ferric red floral border. Greenish glaze. Incised mark on base ' '. Goddens identifies as c. 1770-80 (see documentation) but Twitchett, Derby Porcelain, 1980, claims use of marks in Chelsea-Derby merger period is uncertain and variuos marks used between 1770-84. Incised mark likely to have been used at Nottingham Road factory.
