Black taffeta, waist length. Gored with large gathered frill and 2 scalloped frills, with knife-pleated trim at hem. Originally fastened at waist with button but 2 tapes have been added. Some sections have been reinforced with silk on the inside. All machine sewn. May have been worn under CH.1980.436, or CH.1980.438.
