INDOOR BELL, Electric
CH1980.412
Pear shaped, electric bell. Silver plated. Pear with part of the stem and four leaves. Unscrews near middle of the pear. Hole in bottom end for push button. This is a casein button which pushes one metal plate onto another to form a closed circuit for an electric current to run. These metal plates are fixed to a piece of wood which is the only form of insulation. The remains of two cotton covered copper wires are connected to these two plates. A third whire is unconnected. These wires come out through a wire in the top of the pear. This was probably used as an indoor bell.
