TAILOR'S IRON, Electric, 'VULCAN'

Heavy, electric, nickel plated? 'VULCAN' tailor's iron with turned wooden handle. Oblong metal sole plate squared at the back and tapered to a tip at the front, with metal body. Wooden handle attached to body with rigid strap of plated sheet steel and two dome nuts. Electrical connection at back of handle with a Bakelite cover attached to body with a chromed metal dome nut. Electric cord of copper wires insulated in black, red and green rubber,encased in a cotton cover woven in a maroon and white zig-zag pattern. Three pin brown Bakelite plug. Name plate attached to base of metal handle section marked 'VULCAN/ V240 W850 WEIGHT 11lbs...'

nickel-plated iron. wood and chromed sheet steel. The cord is of rubber-insulated copper wire encased in woven brown and cream cotton. Its three-pin plug is of Bakelite with metal prongs. The point at which it is connected to the body of the iron is covered in brown Bakelite over a lower chromed steel case.
