TEABOWL & SAUCER with stand

"Cup & Saucer decorated in Chinese manner. Worcester china, square mark of Dr. Wall. About 1750 A.D. Rare." Decorated in floral pattern in underglaze blue and overglaze green, ferric red and gilding. Triangle work diaper borders with floral reserves on inside rim and lower edge of bowl a. near stand and at rim & well of saucer b. Mark on base in underglaze blue (blurred on bowl): Godden (1970:693) number 4315: "The square or fret mark, hand painted in underglaze blue, ca 1755-75. Very many variations occur. This mark also occurs on reproductions, most of which are of hard paste porcelain, or of earthenware. It should be noted that early Worcester porcelain with overglaze enamel decoration is seldom marked." c. Wooden display stand.
