Green triangle-work diaper border on outside rim. White relief under-glaze on sides with joo-e heads and curl-work diaper borders in centre, green, red, blue & yellow. Inside rim: fish-roe diaper border with diamonds in red & gilt and three reserves with symbols: sonorous stone, pearl & lozenge. Blue mark in Chinese characters on base. (Ref. Gulland 1911:132-4 & 40-42.) An Roberts: A 'famille-verte' Bowl with shallow rounded sides and wide flared mouth, encircled with formal borders and incised with scattered florettes, the interior rim with a band of object vignettes on a green fish-roe ground, four character mark of Chenghua (Ch'eng Hua) .
