"Munson No.2 / Patented / Sept.17.89 / Feb.10.91 / May8.92" Serial No. 7526. Used by Oswald Sargeant in his pharmacy at York. Ref. Dieta "Collection of Typewriters" in PUBLICATIONS IN HISTORY No.7 p58:- Munson typewriters were "Invented in 1890 by Samuel John Siefried of Chicago, and James Eugene Munson of New York. An elongated-sleeve type-wheel......was operated horizontally with three -bank keyboard and double shift. The type wheel was interchangeable, enabling the machine to be used for different languages. A hammer at the rear of the machine struck the paper against the type-wheel to make the impression.
