SHOES, Gold Brocade

Gold brocade shoes.

Information supplied by June Swann, world authority on historic shoes visiting from UK, during her inspection of shoe collection 18th October 1993:

Would have originally shone gold. 'Magnificent shoes'. Size 7E. Made by Bally in Switzerland. Were expensive. Well-made. 1930-35. The bar shoe was losing popularity in the 1930s but not so much for evening wear. Well worn. an evening shoe. Large-footed wearer - very wide. Is damaged at joint, esp. on left one at bunion and toe.
