Britannia (1898/10/20)
Bunbury

This yacht belonged to a man named Dedman (probably George Dedman), and was valued at £60.
THE LOSS
The Britannia was being sailed by two men, Muller and Brown, close to the shore as they were unable to beat out to sea. A heavy squall caused them to anchor, but the chain parted and the yacht was thrown onto the shore where its side was stove in. The boat was hauled higher up the beach and left for the night. However the high tide reached the Britannia and it drifted onto some rocks where it was smashed beyond repair.
