This work is the result of an internship arranged between Notre Dame University and the Western Australian Museum’s Department of Maritime Archaeology, undertaken on a one day per week basis between 1 July and 31 October 2016. The primary aim of the internship was to describe, photograph and produce a catalogue of artefacts recovered from the WA Museum’s 2002 excavation of a submerged PBY Catalina flying boat wreck, destroyed during a Japanese air raid on Broome on 3 June 1942. Artefacts were photographed, measured, weighed and detailed descriptions provided. The resulting images and information were added to the Department of Maritime Archaeology’s photographic collection and artefact database using Filemaker Pro software.
