Earthenware - large intact water filter, raised decorative lines x 3 around centre of body top and centre of body bottom, before flaring upwards from centre of body to top and from centre of body botttom downwards to base. 2 x sculpted horseshoe type handles at centre of body for lifting. Water cock outlet at base for fitting tap, covering dish with hole in centre permanently attached inside top. Slightly ovoid in section.
Heavy item, possibily filled with marine growth/ concretion or has internal dripstone.
