GT1386P - Ship's timber

Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon)

Fragment of frame; futtock or floor end. Very worn, worm eaten, hardly any original surface preserved. Treenails used to attach frame to hull planking, rounded in section. Two treenails seated very close to one another; one of which is blind treenail, which suggests the ceiling planking was treenailed onto frames.

(Sample in MAC-056, T. 05).
