CH1981.78.a-c
Hard paste porcelain, although still with slightly grainy texture, less vitreous than Chinese. Greyish glaze, very similar to Chinese porcelain. Chinoiserie design with central peacocks and floral design, surrounded by mock diaper border in ferric red and gold. Edge decorated with 4 different birds and flowers. Decoration all over the glaze in enamels (mostly pink and green in imitation of the Chinese) and wash. Several irregularities in shaping of all 3 plates, glaze pitted in places etc. All unmarked but glaze and body irregularities bear out provenance.
