Skeletonized Rifle No.1
M.L.E. = Magazine. Lee-Enfield.
This is the short version [not the complete rifle]. These rifles were used to train Army personnel in the working and repair of the Lee-Enfield. This particular model appears to be a skeletonized Lee-Enfield MkII or Lee-Enfield MkI. No marks. The inspection stamps around the breech would indicate Enfield manufacture, i.e. Crown/Z/E.
Bore/rifled, barrel shape /round, .303 calibre,charge/non firing, ignition/centre-fire, action/bolt-repeater
