BUSTLE, 1880-85

Long bustle composed of small oblong pillow of white cotton stuffed with fibre, attached to length of horeshair-cotton fabric, itself applied with stiff, horizontal frills of the same fabric; the length is formed into a semi-tube by lacing with thin white cotton cord, buttressed with 6 thin steels. ref.
