FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE, In Box

H1989.751.a-b

Former Kalgoorlie Mining Associates property. Is attached to an engine, the instructions read "1. Attach indicator to cock or valve 2. Turn thimble clockwise to check that it has been reset. 3. Open cock or valve. The thimble should move round in jumps, each successively smaller, until it stops turning, the maximum pressure being read opposite the index line on the body. On some engines, the thimble may travel all the way in only one or two jumps and fail to give repeatable readings. This is avoided by OPENING THE COCK VERY SLOWLY so that the thimble moves in smaller jumps". There are other specifications for the object which are more technical; a copy of the instructions is in the supplementary file.
