ENGINE INDICATOR

H1989.752

Former Kalgoorlie Mining Associates property. The instrument is attached to a running engine, measures and plots a graph of the engine's horsepower to ascertain whether the engine is running efficiently. The box contains an allen key, measuring instrument, 3 springs, paper, string, ampoule containing 2 spare needles, wooden rod, corked bottle containing [lubrication?] oil, cardboard for spare indicator cord and mechanism itself. Different springs are used according to the specific pounds of vacuum and pounds of press. Very similar to H88.295 but is different model. Concealed in the inner lid is a chamber with the instruments specifications, instructions and cautions and a table outlining pressures of machines to be tested.
