PAYMASTER'S BAG, Kalgoorlie Mining Associates

Brown leather bag, "square mouth" or kit bag design, similar to bag depicted, top right of p. 1058 of catalogue (see photocopy in supplementary file) with locking and latch arrangements, is squatter and has two leather straps leading from handles to base, where they are secured by studs, for extra strength. Has "SOLID / LEATHER / 16" Has maker's stamp with "J.L. BURLEY (?) / MAKER" in circle with design in centre. Used by the paymaster at Kalgoorlie Mining Associates, given to the Museum of the Goldfields by Don Wilmhurst. The bag was found when demolishing and old KMA office block.
