EVENING BAG, Patterned

H1989.928

Metal framed fabric handbag. Black fabric with a large paisley and floral pattern woven into it in silver and gold thread. Most noticeable pattern is that of four gold daisies?. Each daisy is surrounded by a silver circular pattern. The bag is opened and closed with a clip made of metal trimmed with an amber coloured plastic rectangle. Exposed metal frame is trimmed with opaque brown plastic. Fabric short handle is backed with vinyl. Interior of the bag is lined with synthetic fabric. There are three small pockets inside, one which can be zipped up. Japanese newspaper and tissue paper have been used to stuff the bag. The bag, with various other articles, was presented to the Western Australian Government following the Sister State agreement in 1981. It came from the 1981 Hyogo Exhibition in Japan.
