PLATE: round china plate handpainted rural scene of Brisbane as it was in 1852. Depicts boating on the river with houses scattered on the opposite bank with hills rising behind trees. Principally pale blue, pink, green and yellow colouring with naive figures and houses. The rim is gilded. The back of the plate is painted lime green . The foot however is white and has ' Handpainted/ D.Mc G/Brisbane, Australia. 1852' inscribed on it in cursive script in black. 'KPM/Krister/Germany' with a green manufacturer's mark are stamped centrally in green
