[1] Buff coloured, oblong cardboard base of box, sides secured with ten metal staples.
[2] Lid of box, buff coloured cardboard secured with 8 metal staples. Top of lid is labeled 'LINING' in pencil and 'N GOLLINGER (sic)' in ink. One short side of box has a label glued to it 'Moulded Buttons /Line.Color.Contents' printed on it. The other end has 'DARK-GREY VEST' handprinted on it and pencil writing in red and black.
[3-36] Ten reels of unused cotton in pink, grey, green, blue, black and brown. Some on wooden reels, others on caardboard cylinders. Manufacturers range from 'UNITEE',to ' BONDS INDUSTRIES LTD' to ' J & P COATES'. Twenty four reels of cotton, partly used, some on wooden reels, others on cardboard cylinders. Colours range from grey, taupe, brown, green, blue, violet, orange and pink. Manufacturers include 'J & P COATS', 'DEWHURST'S SILK SUBSTITUTE', 'SEMCO', 'UNITEE', 'CLARK & CO'S, 'C.A.RICKARDS LTD' .'BONDS', 'ROTHFIELD & CO. LTD.' and some unlabeled
