Small, rectangular block with thin metal plate nailed in four places to layered (veneer) wooden base; plate featuring an earlier heraldic design of the Western Australian coat of arms (pre1969) with banner bearing latin motto 'CYGNIS INSIGNIS'. Black swan between reeds surmounted by United Kingdom crest.
