LADDER, Gas Lighter's
H1997.158
Folding cast iron ladder, used for lighting gas lights. The ladder, which has eleven narrow rungs, folds down concertina fashion. The top has a centre metal rung with a handle for carrying. A chain and hook connects to this, to keep ladder secure. There is a top hand rung, covered with rubber. On both sides, central to the length and width of the ladder are two metal handles, used to extend it to its full height.
