FAN, feather

H1999.356

Large white feather folding fan with cream plastic concertina stem. Each section of stem is engraved with a image of flower, or leaves. Fabric with feather tassles is looped through end of handle of fan. Carry-handle attached to stem of fan with metal pin. Feathers attached to plastic stem with short backing strip of wood, using glue and also tied on with cotton thread. Plastic stems looped together with cream ribbon. Each feather has a large central stem, with long wispy strands extending from centre.
