CEREMONIAL APRON

H1994.187

Ceremonial apron made of silk and lined with silk. Square shaped with 'gilt' and 'silver' lace on the margin of the apron and fringes on the three sides. Main field of the apron in the middle has presentation of the image of order with allegorical figures flanking the shield. Shield is divided into four fields with rose in the middle of crossing. Symbols in the shield are Lamb, Sandglass, Crossed Keys, and Bee Hive. Presentations of two Parables are below and supporting pillars with inscriptions with the name of the artist: 'G. Tutill/ Artist' and '83 City Road/ London'.
Violet silk stripe is attached (sewn) round the apron and violet elastic band with metal clasp too.
