Label reads : "MEAD'S / MOIST GAUZE / FIVE YARD ABSORBENT / The strength of this gauze is based upon the weight of finished product produced minus water / ...OFORM / 5 Per Cent / STERILISED ASEPTIC / SEABURY & JOHNSON, / NEW YORK, U.S.A. / BRANCHES : / LONDON, HAMBURG, SYDNEY & MONTREAL / LABORATORIES EAST ORANGE N.J. / GUARANTEED BY SEABURY & JOHNSON UNDER THE (USA) FOOD AND DRUGS ACT, JUNE 30th 1906. SERIAL NO 1003". There are advertisements for other products on either side of jar. Has ring lid as in preserving jars. Would have been part of a mine's First Aid equipment.
