Circular silver metal base with engraved text: 'The Prince Philip Prize for Australian Design/ 1984/ Industrial Design Council of Australia/ Special Category/ Awarded to Ben Lexcen/ For the 12m Yacht "Australia II" '. Silver metal surface is scratched with chipped area to the right of text. Surface is dirty with small signs of corrosion. Base is covered with discoloured white felt leaving a circular metal border around edge. Clear glass triangle prism attached at top of metal base. Logo of Prince Philip Prize printed on top flat surface in white, comprised of a crown motif over double lines entwined within incomplete circles. White chevron shape (part of logo of the Australian Design Council) on back side of triangle at bottom and slightly off centre. Dirt and discolouration present in adhesive attaching metal to glass.
