Inscriptions: Signed and dated: "E.J. Miller / 1902" pencil lower left corner. Title "Victory" pencil lower centre. Subject Matter: Three-masted, square-rigged sailing ship Three rows of cannon. Flying white flag, red cross and union jack upper right corner; a triangular white flag and red cross. In the distance two sailing craft and white cliffs. Foreground small cutter flying red ensign. Probably off the coast of England. Biography: See file 616/81 and CH85.306 Other: Note: an early use of changed signature - usually J.E. Miller.
