CRUDE OIL SAMPLE

"Sample of Crude from Discovery Well Exmouth \ Gulf Western Australia, 4th December, 1953". In glass vial sealed with wax. This is a sample of oil from the first drilling in W.A. by AMPOL. This belonged to Sir William Walkley, founder & Managing Director of AMPOL. Lady Walkley gave it to John Brackenreg, O.B.E., F.R.S.A., who presented it to the Museum in her name.
