4th type used, white ceramic, flat ceramic top, attached to wooden support. Metal fitting attaches to section of wooden post. Ceramic impressed: "SALTER'S \ ACME." The 1st type used was " RAM'S HORN" (symbol) - ceramic. 3rd type used had a grooved top (symbol). None of 1st or 3rd types collected. From the telegraph line between Eyre & Madura. After the 4th type a new line was built further in land, and using steel posts to avoid corrosion and condensation.
