A copper 5 centimes coin. The obverse features a bust of Marianne (Personification of France) facing left and the lettering 'REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE·*'. The designer Mintmark signature 'DUPRÉ' is below the bust. The reverse features the Facial value and the date in the French Republican Calendar 'CINQ CENTIMES L'AN 8· ' with mintmarks 'Lady Archer', 'Caduceus' and 'W' below it, surrounded with an oak wreath. The edge of the coin has visible marks (chevrons).
