A copper 1 centime coin. The obverse features a left profile of Marianne (Personification of the French Nation) wearing a Phrygian cap with the lettering 'REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE' and the mintmark signature '· Dupré ·' of the artist Augustin Dupré. The reverse features the lettering 'UN CENTIME 1846·' and the mintmarks 'A', 'Pointing Hand' and 'Dog Head'. The coins have a pearl border and a smooth edge.
