TELESCOPE, William Johnston, Pensioner Guard, black with gold trims

Telescope is predominantly black with some small gold trimmings, and made from wood, metal, glass & leather. Slight stains & scratches across whole object.
[1] Main body. Cylindrical and tapered towards end with eyepiece. Eyepiece extends 19 centimetres. When extended reveals inscription: 'NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA/ Opticians to Her Majesty/ Holborn Viaduct 59 Cornhill/ 122 Regent Street 153 Fleet Street/ London'. Considerable scratching also revealed on this interior section.
[2] End piece (containing 'objective lens'), attaches to end of main body. Metal & glass, cylindrical. Sealed at one end and open on the other.
