All – Large brown glass bottles, metal caps.
1] small red and gold label on neck ‘AUSTRALIAN/ EXPORT/ LAGER’ slightly torn. Larger oval black red and gold label ‘SWAN/ LAGER/ H.M. FORCES ONLY’ red metal cap with swan image in black. possibly made 1956?
2] Large rectangular red label, stylised swan design. ‘SWAN/ LAGER/ Full Strength Beer/ BREWED FROM THE FINEST HOPS AND BARLEY’ red metal cap with stylised swan logo.
3] Large verticle rectangular green and black label ‘EMU/ BITTER/ BEER’ with image of emu silhouette above text. Green metal cap with emu. Possibly made 1976-78?
4] large oval red gold and black paper label. ‘EMU/ BITTER/ ALE’ label slightly torn along bottom edge, slightly discoloured. Red and silver metal cap, badly tarnished. Possibly made 1937?
5] Large verticle rectangular gold label “SWAN/ GOLD/ REDUCED/ CALORIE/ BEER’ with black swan silhouette. Smaller horizontal rectangular white label on neck. ‘Date: 14/12/83 LABORATORY USE/ FILLER NO. 2 D.D./ TANK NO. BC02 M.O.’ gold cap with swan.
6] Large verticle rectangular label. ‘SWAN LAGER’ with image of brewery site. ‘BREWED AND BOTTLED BY/ SWAN BREWERY CO. LTD/ AT/ PERTH/ WEST/ AUSTRALIA/ EXPORT LAGER’. Label badly torn at top and bottom edges, plain metal cap. Possibly made 1941?
7] Large verticle rectangular red and yellow bordered label. Large silhouette of black swan ‘SWAN/ LAGER’, yellow metal cap with swan silhouette. Lable only attached along left side,r est has detached from bottle. Possibly made in 1950?
8] Large vertical rectangular dark green label. Central oval design with gold border, light green and black ‘EMU/ BITTER’ in white lettering. Emu silhouette design. Green cap with emu image ‘SWAN BREWERY CO LTD PERTH’ around outside of cap. Tarnished white horizontal rectangle label on neck, handwritten in black ‘16B/ UNIT 1 SHIP/ 11.6.69’.
9] Large oval black label with yellow border. ‘EMU/ PILSNER/ BEER’ with large yellow emu image. Small label on neck, black with yellow border. ‘Imported by/ GUTHRIE & CO./ SINGAPORE/ Branches throughout Malaya’. Black, white and yellow cap. Possibly made 1956?
10] Large verticle rectangular white label with red and yellow border. ‘EMU/ EXPORT LAGER’. Line drawing of brewery buildings and silhouette of emu. ‘BREWED AND BOTTLES BY/ THE SWAN BREWERY CO LTD’ small white label on neck, handwritten in blue ink. ‘4B PAST S5/ 9.00 PM/ 21-12-77’ red metal cap with emu image in black.
